Excellence isn’t something you do TO your athlete(s) …

Remember …

You are kindling a flameNOT filling a vessel.

Kindling a flame means WORKING WITH the gifts that are already there, magnifying them, bringing out more of it.

Trying to fill a vessel causes you to try to DO something TO the “vessel” in order to improve it.

You cannot DO excellence TO someone else. You can only develop (kindle/fuel) it from within.

QUESTION: Are you trying to do things TO your child/team to get them to do better?

Or are you working WITH them to ignite, and bring forth, the fire that is already there?
