3 reasons your team isn’t “motivated”

1. No specific purpose or goal
Hard to be fired up or passionate about what you’re doing when there’s no purpose or direction. Without a goal, most are just going through the motions.

2. Outside stress or distraction
Sometimes is an off the field stressor that’s affecting on-the-field focus and/or intensity.

3. Unmet needs
Reference Maslow’s Hierarchy of needs. Without basic needs being met, being “fired up” or motivated just isn’t going to happen with consistency.

Common unmet needs include proper rest and nutrition.
Competitive athletes have a demanding schedule. When they aren’t intentional about recovery, or fueling their bodies well, athletes just don’t have the physical energy needed to “be motivated.”

How can you work with them on making changes in these areas?
I’m going over that with you next week in a pay-what-you-can training for coaches/parents who want to empower their athletes to be the best they can be.

When: October 17-21, 2022
Where: Private FB group
Time: When it’s convenient for you to jump in and check out the training
