The other day, I mentioned that my mindset hasn’t been where it needs to be.
You know what one major indicator of that is?
When your mind starts dwelling on problems instead of focusing on solutions.
You know what I noticed about my mind?
It tends to do that when I’m faced with a problem I don’t know the answers to.
My brain WANTS to find an answer so it keeps mulling over the problem.
So how do you shift from dwelling on the problem to focusing on solutions?
Start asking your brain some good questions.
They don’t have to be super specific.
They can be gentle like …
- What CAN I do (about this situation)?
- What’s something I CAN do to get closer to finding a solution?
- What are some resources I can tap into to get ideas for possibly solutions?
- Who can I talk to?
- What’s something that is outside of my comfort zone, but might unlock opportunities in this situation?
Choose one or two to present to your brain.
Let your brain gently contemplate the questions you ask.
Be open to improving upon the questions or getting more specific with them as your brain begins to untangle potential options for you <3
And yes, it can help to brainstorm this stuff in a journal as well.
So, no matter what journal you have and what it’s designed for, don’t be afraid to take a page and use it for brainstorming 🙂
OR, keep two journals.
One to use as designed and the other to use for your brainstorming.
Whatever works best for your own thought processes and mindset shifting.
The journals I’ve created are there as guides, not as “the law.”
Use it as best suits YOUR needs and your process.
Enjoy!
